STYLUS HIFI 2M BLUE ORTOFON 

The 2M series was developed in cooperation with Danish industrial designer Møller Jensen Design - the same designer who also designed the award-winning MC Jubilee and Kontrapunkt series. Inspired by the facets of a diamond, whose contours gracefully follow the grooves on the surface of a plate, the beautiful elegance of the 2M is a great combination of form and function. The name 2M was chosen from several ideas. We wanted a modern name that is easy to pronounce and remember, so an alphanumeric name was chosen. 2M means MM, which is short for moving magnet It has been designed to the highest standards and is congruent with Ortofon's unwavering commitment to delivering the most precise and accurate playback possible without colouration. The 2M series cartridges feature Ortofon's trademark split pole pins, an invention that allows moving magnet cartridges to have a flat frequency response similar to that of a moving coil cartridge. Split pole pins were invented by Ortofon, and were originally presented in the 500 series and OM Super series. 

Each of the cartridges in the 2M Series has its own individual sonic expression, and all five models together form the set of five classic variations:

• 2M Mono SE, 2M Mono and 2M 78 are true mono cartridges for the playback of mono vinyl records
• 2M Red is a universal cartridge that delivers an open, dynamic sound with a touch of warmth
• 2M Blue adds more dynamics and resolution, sounds more open and reproduces more detail
• 2M Bronze adds even more detail and resolution, but in a very even way that shows respect for all elements
• 2M Black is the best of all, true to the groove with resolution and precise insight into each recording

Stylus colour - Blue, Recommended for following cartridges - 2M Blue, interchangeable with 2M Red. Stylus lifetime: with proper care we find that up to 1000 hours is possible without degradation of performance.
