Description

DDJ-REV1 Serato DJ Controller Pioneer DJ

The DDJ-REV1 is part of the new DDJ-REV series of controllers, which feature custom-designed layouts that emulate a professional DJM-S mixer + PLX turntable setup, with specialized features for open-format and scratch DJs. The new placement of control functions on the DDJ-REV1 gives you all the freedom you need to exhibit your mixing and scratching skills. The tempo sliders are 60 mm long - longer than those on the DDJ-SB3 - for more precise control. What's more, they are positioned horizontally on top of the decks, while the Performance Pads have been moved to the mixer area so you can intuitively combine effects, trigger samples and scratch your tracks.  The larger the jogwheels, the smoother the scratching. The jogs on the DDJ-REV1 are the same size as those on the DDJ-SR2, a popular controller from Pioneer's higher-end DJ range.

Add playful texture to your music with the Lever FX in the mixer section. You can move and hold the levers down to apply effects from Serato DJ Lite in short bursts, or push them up to lock effects so you have your hands free to scratch or browse tracks.

The DDJ-REV1 can help you scratch without taking all the fun out of it. You still need to master the skills yourself, but the Tracking Scratch function silently brings the music back to the cue point every time you move the jog wheel backwards or move your hand away - so you don't have to close the fader or find the right place in the music to scratch again. All you have to do is select the Tracking Scratch Pad mode, press a Performance Pad to choose the desired Scratch Crossfader Cuts pattern, and finally move the jog.

For the first time in a Pioneer DJ controller of this price range, the output of the master audio can be mixed with the sound from the microphone if one is connected. So you don't need external equipment like a sound card or a separate mixer if you want to add a voice or vocals to your performance and send it through your computer. All the sounds are sent to Serato DJ Lite so you can stream from there.

Once you've downloaded Serato DJ Lite onto your PC/Mac for free, you can connect the DDJ-REV1 via the included USB cable and start DJing. Control the many functions and effects in the software with the knobs, dials, sliders and jogwheels on the controller.

The Scratch Bank pad mode allows you to load scratch samples from four banks assigned in Serato DJ Lite or Pro at lightning speed. All you have to do is tap the assigned Scratch Bank button. You can also load tracks from a specified starting point - handy for starting full tracks during a routine.
