Description
ERIS E44 Studio Monitor Presonus (A piece)
Sound waves emitted by the two components in a conventional loudspeaker design can interfere with each other, creating peaks at some frequencies and valleys at others, and these vary depending on where the listener is in relation to the loudspeaker. In an MTM/D'Appolito configuration, interference between components and the associated sonic inconsistencies are minimized. This offers listeners an ultra-wide sweet spot and a more consistent listening experience, both on- and off-axis.
The Eris E44 studio monitor uses a pair of 4.5-inch, woven composite, drivers for the low frequencies. This provides a more consistent dispersion pattern throughout the frequency range, resulting in less time-delayed audio and a cleaner overall sound. The braiding and nature of the dual woofers also help to break up reflected energy, so fewer delayed reflections reach the listener's ear. Combined with the MTM/D'Appolito configuration, this contributes to a transparent, cohesive sound.
Many MTM speaker configurations should be positioned vertically rather than horizontally, because vertical placement ensures clear, interference-free reproduction of midrange and treble on either side, thereby increasing the sweet spot. By placing the midrange drivers closer together and increasing the high-frequency driver, the Eris E44 studio monitors can perform optimally in both directions, allowing you to place the speaker in the way that works best for you. Today's music producers deal with a wide variety of music genres and often work in more than one location. That's why Eris Series studio monitors offer extensive control options for acoustic tuning. The three-position Acoustic Space switch helps compensate for the borderline bass amplification that can occur when a monitor is placed in a corner or near a wall. High and Mid controls can be used to further reduce room anomalies. A low cut filter makes it easy to integrate a Temblor® subwoofer into your monitor setup.
