The MPD2 series is the result of more than 6 years of detailed research. Akaï was asked what the end users wanted. The feedback they received was used to come up with a user-friendly professional product line of pad controllers. 

The Akai MPD226 is a MIDI controller for anyone who likes to bring that MPC feel to their digital setup. In fact, the MPD262 connects and powers via USB to pass MIDI signals to the producer software. Whether you're making a quick MPC-style sketch for a track, triggering samples or loops, the MPD262 makes it all possible.

The MPD226 is equipped with 16 pressure-sensitive MPC pads, 6 faders and 6 rotary knobs. With these pads, combined with the 4 memory banks that the MPD26 has, you can trigger up to 64 samples or loops. You can also use the legendary swing and note repeat functions of the MPC with this controller. The transport buttons ensure that the MPD226 is a full control surface for producers. 

In addition to the digital side of the MPD26, it also has the necessary analog applications. Thanks to the built-in MIDI input and output you can control synthesizers, drum computers and other sound modules with the controller. In addition to the improved functionality, extra compatibility for IOS is added by using the camera connection kit (sold separately) and more than 400 € of free software is included. In this package you will find titles such as: Akai Pro MPC Essentials, Big Bang Drums and Big Bang Cinema from Sonivox, Ableton Live Lite, and Software Preset Editor.  

The aforementioned Software Preset Editor lets you enjoy intuitive editing of the various controls directly from the MPD232. The MPD series represents a major evolution within pad controllers.
