The DAP COM-BTX BT 5.0 Audio Receiver is a high-quality wireless receiver that can be connected directly to an XLR input, turning an active speaker into a Bluetooth speaker or adding Bluetooth reception to a mixer. Thanks to the modern BT 5.0 standard, it is compatible with many current mobile devices and laptops and offers an excellent range of more than 40 m (130 ft) (line of sight). Through support for the aptX, AAC and SBC codecs, the receiver is capable of delivering high audio quality. It provides a mono audio signal output via its male XLR plug, but also features a stereo output via a 3.5 mm TRS jack socket. When a pair of COM-BTX receivers is used, this mono output is configured to pass the left or right audio signal (rather than a monaural, combined signal from both channels). This is particularly useful when two (active) speakers are set up as a stereo pair.

The unit features a rechargeable internal Li-ion battery and can play for a minimum of 8 hours without external power at an average signal level. Power/charging can be done with a standard 5 V USB charger via a micro-USB connector. A USB A to micro-USB charging cable is included (a 5 V power supply is not included).
