Electro-Voice expands its industry-leading EVOLVE series with the launch of the EVOLVE 50M column speaker system. The EVOLVE 50M features ElectroVoice's new QuickSmart Link digital audio and control technology, a built-in mixer, DSP and effects - all combined within the sleek EVOLVE 50 form factor. The EVOLVE 50M is the perfect choice for bands/musicians, AV rental companies, DJs and any application where truly professional audio performance is required in an ultra-compact and portable package.

The EVOLVE 50M, available in black or white, combines state-of-the-art industrial design, superior Electro-Voice components and high-quality materials to deliver the best sound quality, power and reliability in its class. The full-range column array and its eight lightweight 3.5" neodymium drivers provide ultra-wide, full-bandwidth 120° coverage via proprietary waveguides; the array-shaped 40° asymmetric vertical coverage ensures that the acoustic output is directed at both seated and standing audience members. The array enclosure is constructed from durable composite material and features an ergonomic aluminium handle. A 12" subwoofer is housed in a 15 mm wooden enclosure with a high-efficiency laminar-flow vent design, for improved rigidity and acoustic performance. The array and subwoofer are connected via a symmetrical aluminium pole with internal wiring and magnetically assisted locking. The loudspeakers are protected by a black powder-coated 18-gauge steel grille and an array/pole carry bag is included. An advanced class-D amplifier delivers up to 1000 W of power.

The EVOLVE 50M is equipped with the most comprehensive and user-friendly feature set of any column system available on the market today. The "M" designation of the EVOLVE refers to the integrated, fully configurable digital mixer with eight channels. The mixer was developed in collaboration with the team at Electro-Voice's sister company Dynacord, and features multiple inputs (4x XLR/TRS combo mic/line inputs, 1x XLR/TRS combo stereo line input, 1x RCA, 1x 3.5 mm stereo, 1x Hi-Z instrument input) with professional preamplifiers and mixing functions. High-resolution, low-latency Bluetooth® streaming delivers excellent results when playing back music or accompaniment. Independent channel aux sends and a footswitch input are also included, and a range of effects (30 presets, including chorus, delay, flange and reverb, via two FX channels) add a wide array of options for musicians to fine-tune their tone. All of the above helps reduce load-in/out and setup/teardown time - and on-stage clutter - by minimising the need for external equipment such as a mixer and effects pedals.

New from Electro-Voice, QuickSmart Link makes it easy to combine two EVOLVE 50M's for use with larger bands or performances that require more inputs. Simply connect the systems to each other via an Ethernet cable to establish an uncompressed digital audio/control connection, link both systems to one mobile device via the QuickSmart Mobile app (available via the Apple App Store and on Google Play), and gain full mix control over both systems. For applications that require fewer inputs but still need a mixer and stereo output, the EVOLVE 50M can be paired with an EVOLVE 50 via the MIX OUT XLR connector.

The EVOLVE 50M's control panel features ElectroVoice's powerful QuickSmart DSP, allowing all audio, effects and mixing functions to be navigated and adjusted via an LCD display with single-knob operation or via the QuickSmart Mobile app, and enabling multiple signal routing and input options. Features include four presets (Music, Live, Speech, Club), three-band system EQ (low, mid, high), seven-band graphic EQ (in Mixer mode), five user-programmable presets (save and recall settings), phantom power, visual limiter status monitoring, input level control and meters, and a master volume control to optimise gain structure.
