The Palmer ORBIT 11 is an active coaxial 3-way studio monitor for mixing, mastering, post-production, sound design, broadcasting, and content creation. Its coaxial True Point Source design combines a 6.5″ midrange speaker and a 1″ tweeter on a common acoustic axis, ensuring stable sound reproduction and a reliable balance throughout the entire listening area with its consistent 120° × 120° dispersion behavior. The controlled, uniform dispersion supports reliable balance and translation, while the front sound cabinet with cardioid characteristics reduces rearward sound energy and thus room reflections. The low frequencies are handled by two impulse-compensated 8″ woofers in a sealed cast aluminum enclosure with a wall thickness of 5 to 16 mm, which counteracts mechanical forces, minimizes enclosure vibrations, and allows for impressive deep bass reproduction down to 28 Hz. Internal processing with 96 kHz/24-bit and FIR filtering ensures linear phase behavior and temporal coherence of the drivers.
