The high-impedance unbalanced signal from magnetic and piezo pickups is converted into a low-impedance balanced output signal, without any loss of clarity – even with longer cables. The Palmer Mosel is also suitable for synthesizers and other electronic keyboards, as it is extremely stable.

The output transformer – which provides galvanic isolation to eliminate ground loops – can handle studio levels up to +20 dBu. In addition, the Mosel is shielded with Mu-metal to eliminate electromagnetic interference.

The Palmer Mosel offers two additional special features: a variable pad (-10/20/30 dB) and a boost function (+12 dB). These features allow you to always achieve the optimal level for noise-free recordings. The Mosel is also extremely practical because the unbalanced input is available not only in jack format, but also as XLR connectors. This eliminates the need for unreliable adapters. The ground lift switch – for interrupting the ground connection – also features a 'soft lift' setting. The Mosel can be powered by 48V phantom power or a 9V battery.
