DDJ-REV1 Pioneer DJ Serato DJ Controller
DDJ-REV1 Serato DJ Controller Pioneer DJ
The DDJ-REV1 is part of the new DDJ-REV series of controllers, featuring custom-designed layouts that emulate a professional DJM-S mixer + PLX turntable setup, with specialised functions for open-format and scratch DJs. Thanks to the new placement of the controls on the DDJ-REV1, you have complete freedom to show off your mixing and scratch techniques. The tempo sliders are 60 mm long – longer than on the DDJ-SB3 – allowing for even more precise control. They are also positioned horizontally at the top of the decks, while the Performance Pads have been moved to the mixer section so you can intuitively combine effects, trigger samples and scratch your tracks. The larger the jogwheels, the smoother the scratching. The jogs on the DDJ-REV1 are the same size as those on the DDJ-SR2, a popular controller from the higher end of the Pioneer DJ range.
Effortlessly add texture to your music with the Lever FX in the mixer section. You can push the levers down and hold them to apply effects from Serato DJ Lite in short bursts, or push them up to lock effects in place so your hands are free to scratch or browse tracks.
The DDJ-REV1 can help you scratch without taking all the fun out of it. You still need to master the skills yourself, but the Tracking Scratch feature quietly brings the music back to the cue point whenever you move the jogwheel backwards or lift your hand – so you don't need to close the fader or find the right spot in the music to scratch again. Simply select the Tracking Scratch Pad mode, press a Performance Pad to choose the desired Scratch Crossfader Cuts pattern and then move the jog.
For the first time in a Pioneer DJ controller at this price point, the master audio output can be mixed with sound from the microphone when one is connected. This means you don't need any external equipment such as a sound card or a separate mixer if you want to add a voice or vocals to your performance and route them through your computer. All sounds are sent to Serato DJ Lite so you can stream directly from there.
Once you have downloaded Serato DJ Lite for free on your PC/Mac, you can connect the DDJ-REV1 via the included USB cable and start DJing. Control the many features and effects in the software using the buttons, knobs, sliders and jogwheels on the controller.
With the Scratch Bank pad mode, you can lightning-fast load scratch samples from four banks you have assigned in Serato DJ Lite or Pro. All you need to do is tap the assigned Scratch Bank button. You can also load tracks from a specified start point – handy for starting full tracks during a routine.
