These are built in so they're always within reach. You don't even need to connect your laptop. If you want to supplement your set with your own samples, load them into the Scratch Bank in Serato DJ Pro so you can play them back at any time — even if they're full tracks. A tap on the Performance Pads is all it takes. Want to add some effects? No problem — the DDJ-REV7 features 22 Beat FX, including 3 brand-new ones. At the centre of each deck on the DDJ-REV7 you'll find the new 7-inch motorised jogwheel, offering the same rotational stability as a 12-inch turntable. The jogwheel is built to feel like you're playing real records. The acrylic top plate is finished with a vinyl-like texture for optimum finger grip. You can also choose between low and high torque settings. With the two included slipsheets in each deck — which fit neatly into the jogwheel — you can further adjust the friction to your preference. Switch between 33⅓ and 45 RPM at any time, and use the Stop Time setting to adjust how long it takes for the music to stop when you press the pause button. Should it stop immediately, or do you prefer the track to slow down first? The choice is entirely yours, just like with an analogue turntable.

At the centre of each jogwheel, a 3.5-inch LCD screen displays all key information so you don't have to keep looking back and forth between your decks and your laptop. Thanks to an omnidirectional viewing angle, everything is clearly visible no matter where you're standing. You can also disable the digital marker that shows the playback position at any time. If you prefer, you can use the included stickers to mark each jogwheel instead of relying on the digital marker.

The DDJ-REV7 features 4 original scratch samples that can be triggered using the corresponding hardware buttons. Since these sounds are built in, you can fire them at any time — even when the controller is not connected to your laptop. If you want to use your own samples in your set, the Scratch Bank feature lets you instantly load scratch samples from four scratch banks you have assigned in Serato DJ Pro.
